Eleven new ETFs were listed on London Stock Exchange in July 2017, bringing the total number of ETFs and ETPs listed on the exchange to 921 and 457 respectively.
Lyxor was the most active issuer by number of new listings, launching three new equity ETFs and one fixed income ETF in London.
The Lyxor FTSE USA Core Infrastructure Capped UCITS ETF (LON: BILD) and Lyxor FTSE Developed Europe Core Infrastructure Capped UCITS ETF (LON: MAKE) provide exposure to US and European infrastructure companies respectively. Each eligible company must derive at least 65% of their revenue from the development, ownership, operation, management and/or maintenance of transportation, energy or telecommunications infrastructure. BILD and MAKE each have a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.50%.
The Lyxor S&P 500 UCITS ETF (LON: SP5C) tracks the S&P 500 Index and is now available to trade on LSE with a TER of 0.15%.
Finally, Lyxor launched the Lyxor BofAML $ Short Term High Yield Bond UCITS ETF (LON: HYST), providing exposure to the performance of the short-dated, US dollar-denominated sub-investment grade corporate bond market. HYST tracks the BofA Merrill Lynch BB-CCC 1-3 Year US High Yield Constrained Index and has a TER of 0.30%.
BMO launched three smart beta equity ETFs. The BMO Enhanced Income USA Equity UCITS ETF (LON: ZWUS), the BMO Enhanced Income UK Equity UCITS ETF (LON: ZWUK) and the BMO Enhanced Income EUR Equity UCITS ETF (LON: ZWEU) allow investors to gain exposure to US, UK and European stocks, as well as, potentially generate additional income through the use of covered call strategies. Each fund has a TER of 0.30%.
ETF Securities listed two commodity ETFs in London. The ETFS All Commodities GO UCITS ETF (LON: BCOG) and ETFS All Commodities Ex-Agriculture And Livestock GO UCITS ETF (LON: XAGS) provide diversified exposure to a broad range of commodities, and commodities excluding agriculture and livestock. BCOG and XAGS have TERs of 0.35% and 0.39% respectively.
BlackRock brought two ETFs to London this month. The iShares $ Floating Rate Bond UCITS ETF (LON: FLOT) enables investors to access US dollar-denominated floating rate bonds, offering a degree of protection against rising interest rates. With a TER of just 0.10%, FLOT is now the cheapest floating rate bond ETF listed in Europe.
The iShares Diversified Commodity Swap UCITS ETF (LON: ICOM) provides diversified access to a broad range of commodities by synthetically replicating the well-known Bloomberg Commodity Total Return Index. Its TER is 0.19%.
Total on-exchange value traded for ETFs and other ETPs in July 2017 was £24.6 billion, down by 19% compared to July 2016. Total on-exchange value traded for ETFs and other ETPs year-to-date was £188.3bn, up by 4% compared to 2016.
