Paris-based Lyxor has rolled out its range of US S&P 500 sector ETFs on the Deutsche Börse. Aimed primarily at German-based investors, the Deutsche Börse listing compliments the range’s existing listing on the Euronext in Paris.
The nine funds track the S&P Select Sector Capped 20% Indices, a variation of the S&P Select Sector Indices, which are themselves ultimately derived from the S&P 500 Index. The S&P 500 Index is a widely-followed index of leading, blue chip US companies.
The S&P Select Sector Capped 20% Indices employ a modified market-capitalisation weighted methodology to ensure that no individual stock has a weight over 20% of the index as of each quarterly rebalancing.
By tracking the 20%-capped version of the S&P Select Sector Indices, the funds thereby comply with UCITS diversification rules.
The Lyxor range competes directly with Source’s comparable family of US sector ETFs listed on the London Stock Exchange, which track the same 20%-capped indices. The funds in the Lyxor range, however, have an annual total expense ratio of 0.20% compared to Source’s 0.30%.
The sectors the funds track are: financials, consumer discretionary, energy, consumer staples, utilities, technology, materials, industrials and health care.
