VanEck has registered 14 Think ETFs for distribution in Germany, Italy, the UK and Sweden. The ETFs, which are listed on Euronext Amsterdam, became part of the VanEck family following its acquisition of the Dutch ETF provider in June 2018

The ETFs have over €1.7bn in assets under management collectively.

While VanEck’s existing roster of strategies are relatively non-vanilla – i.e. gold mining equities, junior gold miners, natural resource equities, US preferred stocks, local-denominated EM debt, and Morningstar’s MOAT strategy for US equities – the addition of Think ETF’s line-up helps to round out the firm’s offering.

Think-branded strategies include funds offering European, North American, and global equity exposure (as well as global ESG-screened and North American dividend funds); three funds tracking Markit iBoxx indices targeting government and corporate bonds; and a global real estate ETF.

In addition, the firm offers three globally diversified multi-asset ETFs with ‘defensive’, ‘neutral’, or ‘offensive’ risk characteristics.

“With the Think ETF integration, we are able to offer investors a broader range of asset classes, sectors and innovative strategies at low cost,” said Martijn Rozemuller, European Head of VanEck.

Jan van Eck, CEO of VanEck, added, “The Think ETF team has made a name for itself with its high-quality product range. The aim of the acquisition was to put the know-how of Think management to work for our clients. We are drawing nearer to achieving this objective by utilizing the synergy effects of both companies and we are now able to offer Think ETFs to a greater number of investors in European markets.”

Think ETF’s largest fund is the Think Global Equity UCITS ETF (TGET) which has over €800 million in assets under management. It tracks the Solactive Global Equity Index, consisting of the top 250 shares from global developed markets, equally weighted, with a cap of 40% on the regions of North America, Europe and Asia. It comes with a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.20%.

The firm has a number of other sizable funds including the €190m Think AEX UCITS ETF (TDT), the €175m Think Global Real Estate UCITS ETF (TRET), the €140m Think Sustainable World UCITS ETF (TSWE), and the 140m Think iBoxx AAA-AA Government Bond UCITS ETF (TAT).

The addition of Think ETF’s 14 physically replicating funds raises the number of ETFs within VanEck’s European offering to 23.
